Why do I do theatre??

This is an extension of my thoughts that were shared in my previous post, in which I raised this question for introspection: why do people from various walks of life get attracted to theatre? What is common in these people? Or, what is it in the theatre that Attracts them towards itself.

Four dimensions: Body, Heart,Mind and Soul. Theatre seems to be touching - or at least providing avenues of touching - all four dimensions. It makes one feel emotions while getting into the skin of the character. It indeed ensures that thinking is involved in conceptualizing, writing and executing scenes. Sentiments are also combined in expressing through body movements and gestures. Thus, all three dimensions of body, mind and heart is coordinated and involved in unison while working on a particular script and enacting it. I am also sure that while playing a characters hat me is not, there remains a great possibility of transforming into soul dimension, something that merely experiences without feeling, thinking, or even enjoying!!!

Theatre seems to have this true potential of helping one transcend from an ordinary existence to experiencing - even if transiently - a level which is higher than normal 'being'.

Then, is it so that those who are seekers, soul searchers, or self explorers do get attracted to theatre so as to provide oneself an opportunity to look and explore within? Does theatre provide this insider-outsider experience that can help one realize one's true but hidden dimensions?

Perhaps, theatre is one of the dimensions of that ' talaash'!
